The Location
Waterworks Food Hall sits in a soaring heritage shell in King West. Built in 1837 to house St. Andrew’s Market, and recommissioned as the City’s Water Works in 1932, it is a venue that has seen many transformations. Now a culinary and cultural hub in the centre of the city - this venue sits next to our son Bert’s favourite playground, our favourite hotel (The Ace) and serves our family’s favourite vegan ramen. When thinking of a venue in Toronto for one of our booths we couldn’t think of anywhere more perfect. With its original brick and steel bones and that soaring, light-filled roof, Waterworks understands history. All ages (and dogs!) are welcome

The Booth
This Model 21’s story begins in Sylvan Beach, New York - at Carello’s Arcade, home to the last public colour photobooth in North America lovingly run for 34 years by David and Lisa Carello. When the colour chemistry started to run out, we drove back again, and again, and again - until the final season ended and the booth needed a new home, and a new life with black and white chemistry. This booth holds love and loss and kindness and family (new and old). It has seen thousands of families and made thousands of memories and now it’s ready for Toronto. When you sit inside it, you’re sitting inside all of that history at once.
