The Location
Rooney’s is everything we love about small, creative shops. Owned by photographer Katie Sadie, and named for her daughter, this space is warm to its core. A place where photobooks sit next to gallery walls of work by local photographers, coffee and truly dangerous bagels.Their calendar of events, talks, pop-ups, tiny concerts, and dance parties spill into a sweet back patio and a tucked-away tattoo studio run by Katie’s husband (Zappo’s) all make this the perfect spot. Add the weekly film drop-off that keeps Hamilton’s analog community humming, and it’s obvious why we chose it - the booth belongs here

The Booth

Hamilton’s booth is our Model 14 - a booth rescued from almost 20 years in a storage unit in Winnipeg, MB, where we learned that photobooth history in Canada is bigger and richer than most people realize. The National Vending Company ran analog photobooths across Canada for four generations and have largely been left out of the story. We are so honoured to be able to carry the story forward. Our commitment is simple: we take stewardship seriously. These machines aren’t props, they’re living history. This one is safe here.
